		<description><![CDATA[Finasteride is a dihyrotestoterone inhibitor that works by stopping the conversion of testoterone to dihydrotestoterone by 5-alpha reductase. Finasteride was initially licensed for use in benign prostatic hypertrophy but is known to help male hair loss.
Finasteride in 5 mg tablets for the treatment of prostate hypertrophy is marketed as Proscar whereas Finasteride is marketed for hair loss treatment in 1 mg tablets under the trade name Propecia.
